Tastes Like Chicken started as an after school program, instructed by Greg Ellis and Kevin Martin, who teach at the school. Originally, the program was entered by about 12 people, but over two months, the number boiled down to four people: Cole Barbour, Aaron Clarke, Jake Nagy, and Joe Njache. They have been playing together since October 2007, so roughly a year and a half. They generally practice at school, but occasionally they practice at Cole Barbour’s house. They have played at school assemblies several times, but mostly play in Rockland, Owls Head, Camden area. They have played at the Summer Solstice and the Pub Crawl in the North Atlantic Blues Festival in Rockland, Maine. They have recently recorded a CD at Limin Music in Northport, Maine, engineered by Bruce Boege. The cover photo was taken by David Clarke, and the inner sleeve photo was taken by Max Barbour. The main music styles of the band are Rock, Heavy Metal, and Blues. They play cover songs and originals. Also, they have recently won the Trekkapalooza (January 3rd, 2009) in Rockland.
